Tenuta di Valgiano

2025 Palistorti di Valgiano Bianco

A Mediterranean white made from Vermentino, Trebbiano, Grechetto, and Malvasia, rooted in Lucca’s old tradition of planting white grapes among the reds. It is bright, salty, and seriously textural, with almond notes and this lovely limestone grip that feels very Alberese. Made in tiny quantities, very little ever leaves Italy, and honestly, once you taste how fresh, layered, and complete it is, you understand why.

Region:  Lucca, Tuscany

Appellation:  Toscana Bianco IGT

Varietal/Blend:  50% Vermentino, 30% Trebbiano, 15% Grechetto, 15% Malvasia

ABV:  13.5%

Vineyard:  Two hectares of vines averaging 30 years old, planted on chalky, clay-rich “alberese” marl and alluvial sandstone influenced by the nearby Tyrrhenian coast and the Apennines.

Cellar: Grapes are hand-harvested in small boxes and carefully selected. The Vermentino is manually destemmed, foot-crushed, and given a short period of skin contact before fermenting with indigenous yeasts in older French oak barrels. The remaining grapes are pressed directly and fermented in stainless steel. The wine is then blended and aged for six months in steel, lightly fined with bentonite, and bottled. ~8,000 bottles produced.

CSPC:  151301
