2023 Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso DOC Marchesa MariaBella

Ripasso can sometimes feel like it is trying to be Amarone’s younger sibling, but this one is perfectly happy being itself. It is fresh, energetic, and really easy to drink. Aromas of black cherry, wild strawberry, and a hint of candied orange peel jump from the glass, with a subtle thread of forest and earth that quietly reminds you of its origins. Marchesa MariaBella is generous without being heavy. On the palate, sun-ripened cherries, soft spice, and polished tannins give it structure while keeping it approachable. It is the kind of Ripasso you can enjoy right away with a meal, yet it has enough backbone to hold up gracefully for a few years.
