Valdarno di Sopra DOC Vertigine

The Valdarno di Sopra DOC / Val d'Arno di Sopra DOC is a young appellation but a very old and historically regarded terroir. In the hills of Arezzo, it has been singled out from the Chianti DOCG to stand on its own, its area known by the Medici and the Romans for its fine, elegant, lighter bodied, mineral driven wines (the fact that this is where Petrolo's famous Merlot is grown notwithstanding). In the past, Vertigine has been Rocco & Meca's 100% Canaiolo but a hail storm in 2023 devastated their Canaiolo and so this year they've taken up the Valdarno di Sopra DOC mantle for the first time (Italy's first 100% Organic appellation!) and brought us this blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Malvasia Nera aged in old oak tonneaux and now available in six-packs. We're super eager to taste it with you guys! Only 2000 bottles made.
