Dacapo

2019 Nizza DOCC Dacapo

Nizza DOCG is Barbera's victory lap. After centuries of proving itself in the hills around Nizza Monferrato, the grape finally earned its own standalone appellation in 2014. Reserved exclusively for 100% Barbera grown across a small group of villages in the heart of Monferrato, Nizza was created to showcase the variety at its most complete and age-worthy. Dark cherry preserves, plum compote, licorice, and warm spice unfold gradually from the glass, while the palate carries all that richness. For anyone who still thinks of Barbera as a simple weeknight red, this wine offers a compelling counterargument.
