Château de Chambrun

2020 Lalande-de-Pomerol AOC MAGNUM

"Intense dark purple core and hue. Fine perfume displaying violet, blackberry, cassis, dark chocolate and some earthy truffle hints. Dense and polished texture, good volume with ample and digest dark fruit, a mild spiciness, integrated oak and a long meaty finish." 93 pts, Andreas Larsson

Region:  Lalande-de-Pomerol, Bordeaux

Appellation:  Lalande-de-Pomerol AOC

Varietal/Blend:  90% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon

ABV:  14%

Vineyard & Vine Age: The grapes come from a 12.24-hectare vineyard with ~52-year-old vines planted at 6,500/ha. Soils are gravelly clay with a gravel-dominant surface layer. Green manuring is practiced using legumes (fava beans, peas, and clover) and grasses (rye and oat).

Cellar: Harvested entirely by hand, the grapes are received by gravity and sorted on a densimetric table. Vinification is carried out plot by plot in Italian concrete tanks within a gravity-flow cellar, with MLC in barrels. The wine is aged in French oak barrels ( 60% new oak and 40% one-year-old oak featuring 15 different toast levels).

CSPC:  141581
